The Different Types of GAF Roofing

Few roofing companies come close to matching GAF’s wide selection of roofing options. Whatever home style you may have, there is a GAF roofing system for you. As a GAF Master Elite® contractor, Orion Home Improvements LLC shares an overview of GAF’s roofing systems.

The Different Types of GAF Roofing

Traditional Three-Tab Shingles

Three-tab shingles are the most popular roofing systems and also the most affordable. But, don’t dismiss three-tab shingles just because of the cost: GAF’s traditional three-tab shingles are a great value for money. Take for instance the GAF Marquis® WeatherMax® and Royal Sovereign® shingles. In addition to a wide selection of colors, you also get the durability, quality and long-term performance for which the GAF Lifetime Roofing System is known.

Architectural Shingles

Also known as laminate or dimensional shingles, architectural shingles are multi-layered asphalt shingles designed to emulate the hand-cut look of wood shakes. GAF’s Timberline® roofing shingles are their best-selling roofing product that strikes the perfect balance between cost, performance and beauty, such as the high-contrast Ultra HD® shingles. GAF’s Architectural and Designer shingles are also eligible for up to 50 years of material coverage and up to 30 years of workmanship coverage with the Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty.

Designer Shingles

If your home style calls for something more first-class, GAF offers the Lifetime Designer shingles, which are designed to emulate elegant roofing materials like slate and aged wood shakes. GAF also has specialty roofing like the Sienna® fish-scale shingles as well as the Woodland® shingles that emulate hand-cut European shingles.

TruSlate®

GAF’s selection of roofing materials doesn’t stop at asphalt shingles. The TruSlate® premium roofing system is their version of slate roofing that is made from real, hand-split, quarried slate, but at a fraction of its weight and cost. By reducing the overlaps down to a few inches and replacing the unseen parts with a tough waterproofing material, GAF can make real slate roofing available to every homeowner who wants it. Since it’s lighter than traditional slate roofing, it can be installed on most asphalt shingle roofs without modifying the roof structure.
